This year the conference will take place from 9-12 July 2018 at the CSIR Convention Centre in Pretoria.

This year’s theme will tackle "Towards a desired transport future: Safe, Sufficient and Affordable".

Student Essay Competition

The essay competition is open to all registered students (undergraduate as well as post-graduate) at tertiary institutions. The competition is held within the institutions and each institution will select its two winners.

 

Students need to prepare a five-page essay according to the conference paper format on “Towards a desired transport future: Safe, Sufficient and Affordable”, providing innovative solutions for the conference theme. Institutions must submit the winning entries by 14 May 2018 so that they may be included on the SATC 2018 Memory Stick. Winning students and their lecturer will receive a complimentary registration for SATC 2018. Transport to Pretoria and accommodation will also be sponsored.

COCKTAIL FUNCTION AND PRIZE GIVING

The function will take place at the Convention Centre, on Monday 9 July, after the day’s sessions.

 

  • The SATC Awards for the “Best paper presented at the Conference” and the “Best Practical Paper” will be announced and the prizes of R16 000,00 plus certificates handed over. The ‘Best paper presented at the ICTI Conference’, will also be presented.

  • The SAICE Transportation Division’s Award for the “Best Paper by a Young Professional” will be announced.

  • The “Distinguished SATC Fellow” Awards are presented to selected people in recognition of many years of meritorious service to the SATC and the transportation industry in South Africa.

 

Delegates registered for any of the four days of the conference are invited to attend the function.

Transport: (Courtesy Bus)
